This week in Swift Print we have been hard at work with another large order. The Identification Guide to Irelands Ladybirds is a stylish pocket sized guide for any wildlife enthusiast in Ireland and the UK. It’s got a handy breakdown of the ladybird’s life cycle, identification keys, size guides & rulers and the species ranges.
Today brought the excellent news for ourselves and Biodiversity Ireland; the ladybird swatch is a finalist in the Irish Print Awards! Our bespoke hand finished swatch has attracted national attention for the Print Finishing of the Year, sponsored by Neopost.
The National Biodiversity Data Centre are based at WIT’s Carriganore Campus. Maria Walsh has sent in their Ladybird swatch design by Dave in Vitamin Studios to be printed and finished by us at Swift Print. The full range of Irish Wildlife swatches are on sale on http://www.biodiversityireland.ie/shop/
The Ladybird is the third species of Irish wildlife, after Butterflies and Bumblebees, to receive the luxury swatch treatment from us, and we will be working on The Identification Guide to Irelands Trees over the next few weeks.
It is one of the many exciting projects undertaken by Swift Print in association with National Biodiversity. Our work together includes flyers, notebooks, newsletters and magazines, and other information guides. The spiral bound Identification Guide to Irish Grasses is an A5 booklet that makes for interesting reading – I never knew there were so many types of grass!
In June of this year the National Biodiversity Data Centre asked us to produce the latest edition of their biannual magazine “Biodiversity Ireland”, which is posted to over 1,000 subscribers. It will also being sent to schools and colleges all over Ireland. Produced in hi-gloss on a lightweight paper for ease of postage, this magazine showcases the best of Ireland’s biodiversity and the many recording initiatives underway.
